CDC-C formation tester consists of several modules, the tool combination can be flexible due to client's requirement. This system can accomplish strain gauge, quartz crystal gauge , fluid temperature measurement, it can apply real-time downhole fluid analysis by performance of pump-out module and fluid analysis module through measurement of resistivity, water holdup and fluid density, and by this mean to achieve the goal of real formation fluid collection. We can apply air cushion for conventional sampling, or use pump-out module combined with water cushion for PVT high pressure sampling. CDC-C Modular Formation Dynamic Tester Tool is composed of HH2530/2580 surface acquisition system, CDX-C electronic unit section, CDM single probe unit, EPM power supply sub(power supplier to modules below CDM) , FAM fluid analyzing module, POM pump out module, and SAM Sampling module. SAM sampling module is divided into two sampling modes: air cushion and water pump out. All flowlines and sampling chambers are made by anti- H2S material.

fluid analysis by performance of pump-out module and fluid analysis module
through measurement of resistivity, water holdup and fluid density, and by this
way to achieve the crude formation fluids sampling. We can apply air cushion
for conventional sampling, or use pump-out module combined with water cushion
for PVT high pressure sampling. CDC-C Modular Formation Dynamic Tester Tool is
composed of HH2530/2580 surface acquisition system, CDX-C electronic unit section,
CDM single probe unit, EPM power supply module (power supplier to modules below
CDM) , FAM fluid analyzing module, POM pump out module, and SAM Sampling
module. SAM sampling module have two kind of sampling modes: air cushion and
water cushion (need pump out) . All modules are made by anti- H2S

5. SAMPLING MODULE
5.1 WORKING MODE
MODE 1, air cushion for conventional sampling
MODE2, pump-out module combined with water cushion (OVER PRESSURE SINGLE PHASE SAMPLING)
SAMPLING MODE: SAM MODULE ACTS AS A PART OF CDC-C, WHEN PROBE PENETRATES SIDEWALL, FORMATION FLUID ENTERS FLOWLINES. AS SOON AS SURFACE COMMAND RECEIVED BY SAMPLING MODULE, ELECTRIC THROTTLE VALVE SEAL WILL BE OPENED UPON THESE COMMANDS. WHEN WE DECIDE TO USE AIR CUSHION, THEN FILL BUFFER CHAMBER WITH 100PSI AIR, FORMATION FLUID PUSHES INSULATING PISTON INTO SAMPLING CHAMBER BY FORCE OF DIFFERENCIAL PRESSURE. IF WATER CUSHION IS APPLIED, IT WORKS MUST TOGETHER WITH PUMP-OUT MODULE, FORMATION FLUID ENTERS SAMPLING CHAMBER BY FORCE OF PUMP-OUT MODULE.
